Abs Exercises

Certainly many men think that Exercise or Swiss balls are just for the girls are wrong. In fact this piece of Fitness is ideal for anyone to use and if you are a man who is looking for a great way to get their Abs back into shape then you may want to consider using one. In fact you may well be surprised to find some of the most muscular guys at your local gym are carrying out various different Exercise ball Exercises to help improve the tone of their body all over and not just their Abs. Below we provide details of some of the different types of Exercises a man could use to improve the tone of his Abs with an Exercise ball.

1. Core Crunches
To do this exercise you will need to get down on your knees with the ball in front of you. Now bend at the waist and rest your elbows on to the ball. Now by squeezing your abdominal muscles you need to roll the ball forward until both the upper part of your body and your thighs form a straight line. Upon reaching this position you now need to roll the ball back again to the position you started from again using your abdominal muscles only.

2. Basic Crunches
You need to place your feet flat on to the floor and then place your lower back on to the ball, whilst your upper body and your thighs should be parallel with the floor. Then you need to carry out crunches as you would normally do without using a ball by lifting only up only your shoulders and the upper part of your back away from the ball. Again it is important that when doing this exercise you utilize your abdominal muscles to help pull you up and away from the ball.

3. Elevated Pushups
This particular exercise is great for not just your Abs but also your pecs, triceps and shoulders as well. In order to do this exercise you need to place the fronts of your knees against the ball and place your hands flat on to the floor. This will result in your whole body being parallel with the floor below the ball. Now start to look down at the floor and begin to lower your face. You should stop lowering your face when it is a few inches from the floor and once this position has been reached you need to start pushing pack up again to the position that you started from.

Above are a number of different exercise ball exercises that will help to strengthen and tone your abdominal muscles and which can all be carried out in the comfort of your own home if you wish. Certainly the biggest advantage to be gained from purchasing an exercise ball is that not only are they reasonably cheap it also allows you to carry out the workouts in the comfort of your own home rather than at your local gym.
